To upload pictures from the Blackberry to a Mac
General notes about the camera:
- The camera in the Blackberry is truly crappy.
- I have the "quality" set to "superfine", so the Blackberry can
only hold about 8 pictures.
- You use Bluetooth to upload pictures from the phone to a Mac.
- I keep Bluetooth turned off in the
laptop to preserve battery life.
To configure Bluetooth on the Mac:
- Open System Preferences -> Bluetooth
- Enable "On" and "Discoverable" and
"Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar".
- Click "Sharing Setup".
- Enable "Bluetooth Sharing".
- Highlight "Bluetooth Sharing".
- Set "When receiving items" to "Accept and Save".
- Leave "Folder for accepted items" set to "Downloads".
To configure Bluetooth on the Blackberry:
- Go to "Blackberry Setup".
- Go to "Set Up Bluetooth".
- If it doesn't say "Bluetooth: Enabled" at the
top, click the Menu key (to the left of the trackball)
and select "Enable Bluetooth".
- Find Bluetooth devices (I forget how)
- When the Blackberry finds the Mac, it'll prompt for a
number. Make one up, like "12345".
- Over on the Mac, type in the numbers.
- The Mac and the Blackberry should now be
paired, so they can talk to on another.
To upload a picture from the Blackberry to the Mac:

trackball) and select "View Pictures".
- Use the trackball to highlight a picture.
- Click the Menu key (to the left of the
trackball) and select "Send Using Bluetooth".
- The Blackberry will ask you to "Select a device:". Select the Mac.

on both the Blackberry and the Mac.

more.
